SACREEE 2025 Capacity-Building Program for Women Entrepreneurs

The SADC Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) is proud to launch the first edition of this entrepreneurship capacity-building program, dedicated to advancing the careers of women energy entrepreneurs from the SADC region. The initiative is led by the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) in collaboration with the SADC Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE), with financial support from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC).

.

The 6-months capacity-building program seeks to empower women entrepreneurs or owners of an energy-related business to advance their businesses through expert and industry role models. The training is limited only to business soft-skill training and does not include technical technologies training.

.

This initiative aims to empower women-led entrepreneurs to drive sustainable energy solutions in the region. Women entrepreneurs in the areas of solar thermal, energy efficiency, and productive use of energy will be given preferential consideration. The capacity-building program DOES NOT provide capital funding but facilitates enterprise financing through matchmaking and linking entrepreneurs with potential funders.

.

Eligibility:

  • The program is only open to individuals who identify as women and are SADC nationals.
  • Applicants should also be able to commit to attending virtually / online roughly 8 hours per month towards the program.
