Nextgen Peacemakers Programme

The European Commission is inviting applications for the €1,000,000 Nextgen Peacemakers Programme to strengthen sustainable, in-country capacities for effective conflict management and peacebuilding.

Funding Information 

  • The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 4 000 000. The contracting authority reserves the right not to award all available funds.  
  • Indicative allocation of funds by lot/geographical distribution:
    • Lot 1 (Guinea-Bissau): EUR 1 000 000  
    • Lot 2 (Liberia): EUR 1 000 000  
    • Lot 3 (Sierra Leone): EUR 1 000 000  
    • Lot 4 (The Gambia): EUR 1 000 000 
  • Size of grants
    • Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the following minimum and  maximum amounts:
      • minimum amount: EUR 1 000 000  
      • maximum amount: EUR 1 000 000 
  • Duration
    • The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months. 

Eligibility:

  • In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
    • be a legal person and 
    • be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation13 or public sector operator, and  
    • be effectively established in a Member State of the European Union or other eligible countries asstipulated in the basic act NDICI-GE1415, and where relevant, have the authorization to operate in the selected country according to national laws, and  
    • be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary, and  
    • have a minimum of three years documented experience implementing projects in relation to the specific priorities for the selected lot, in the country or in the sub-region (Coastal West Africa), 
  • The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
    • If the lead applicant is not established in the country where the action will be implemented, at least one organization established in the country must be a co-applicant to the action.
